The Rivers State Government has dismissed reports of a dispute between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Rivers State House of Assembly over the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, clarified that Fubara is working in harmony with lawmakers to advance the interests of the people.
According to the government, the 2026 budget proposal has already been submitted to the Assembly and is undergoing the normal legislative process.
Officials expressed confidence that the bill will be passed without controversy.The statement emphasized that Rivers State has endured difficult times in the past and cannot afford fresh political crises.
It urged those spreading “negative narratives” to desist, stressing that peace and cooperation are essential for the state’s continued development.
