National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has said the outcome of the Osun State governorship election proves that Nigerians retain the power to determine who governs them.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, Dickson congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as significant not only for Osun State but also for Nigeria’s democracy.
He noted that Adeleke’s win serves as a reminder that, even in a challenging political climate, the people can still assert their democratic will through the ballot.
Dickson wrote: “His victory shows that Nigerians can still decide who governs them. I commend the people of Osun State for standing firm in defence of their democratic choice.”
He further urged other candidates who contested the election to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship by joining hands with Adeleke to promote peace and development in Osun State.
