The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has arrived at the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally in Osogbo ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
This comes amid public outrage over his recent threat against members of the Accord Party.
Fadahunsi’s appearance at the rally follows widespread condemnation of a viral video in which he was heard directing APC supporters to “kill” members of the Accord Party whenever they encountered them.
The remarks, made during a protest in Ilesa, triggered strong criticism from human rights groups, including Amnesty International, and led to his invitation and questioning by the Osun State Police Command.
The APC mega rally, held on the final day of the official campaign period, is part of the party’s last major mobilisation effort for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Top party leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman Hope Uzodimma, and several state governors, also attended the event in Osogbo.
