Akwa Ibom PDP, NDC, APC Stakeholders Endorse Tinubu, Akpabio, Eno for 2027

Stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno for another term in the 2027 general elections.

The cross-party endorsement was made on Saturday at a meeting of critical stakeholders from the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District (Akwa Ibom North-West).

Participants unanimously backed the three leaders after assessing their performance and contributions to national and state development.

A communique read by the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Hon. Unyime Idem, was adopted following a motion moved by Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien and seconded by Hon. Iboro Ekanem.

The stakeholders specifically endorsed Tinubu for a second term as President, Akpabio for another term as Senator representing the North-West district, and Eno for a second term as Governor.

The development is significant because it cuts across party lines, with the presence of the state PDP chairman, Aniekan Akpan, and other opposition figures at the meeting.

Stakeholders also declared their readiness to deploy their political structures to secure victories for the trio.

Reacting, Akpabio attributed the endorsement to the prevailing peaceful political atmosphere in the state.

He said the unity among politicians had brought opposition elements together in support of Tinubu, himself and Eno.

“We are very happy for this grand endorsement of Mr President, myself and our governor. It shows that there is unity in this state, particularly in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District,” Akpabio said.

“This support and endorsement would be demonstrated on election day. I can assure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno that the people of this district will give them 100 percent of the votes.”

He appealed to political actors to forgive past grievances and sustain peaceful coexistence ahead of the campaigns.

Prominent figures who attended the meeting included former Minister of Petroleum Resources Don Etiebet, former Deputy Inspector-General of Police Udom Ekpoudom, and Senators Aloysius Etuk, Emmanuel Ibokessien and Chris Ekpenyong.
