Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that the joint ticket of Peter Obi and himself stands unmatched in credibility and capacity ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso made the remarks during an appearance on the News Agency of Nigeria Personality Interview Series in Abuja on Sunday.He stated that the Obi-Kwankwaso combination is positioned to defeat any rival contender in 2027.
The former Kano State governor explained that the alliance was deliberately formed to create a balanced ticket capable of uniting Nigerians across regional and religious lines.
According to him, the pairing draws on Obi’s strong support base in the South and his own political influence in the North, forming a broad national platform.
“Nobody, no ticket, can beat our own in terms of credibility, capacity and, of course, love for the country. Even in terms of empathy for the poor who are suffering across the country today, no other contender can match us,” Kwankwaso said.
He added that lessons from the 2023 election had given him a deeper understanding of the former Anambra State governor and reinforced his conviction that the two could work effectively together.
