Yobe Emir, Residents Hold Special Prayers for Rain Amid Prolonged Dry Spell

The Emir of Bade in Yobe State, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, on Sunday led Muslims in a special congregational prayer seeking divine intervention for rainfall.

The prayer, held in Gashua, drew Islamic scholars, district heads, ward heads, community leaders, and a large crowd of residents.

Participants offered fervent supplications for abundant and beneficial rain, a bountiful harvest, prosperity, and protection from drought and other calamities.

The Emir urged the people to intensify acts of worship, seek repentance, promote unity, and uphold good conduct to attract Allah’s mercy.

He concluded with prayers for the acceptance of their supplications and peace in the land.

Many parts of Yobe State have experienced erratic and insufficient rainfall this season, delaying farming activities and raising fears of poor yields for staple crops like millet, sorghum, and maize.

Agricultural experts warn that a continued dry spell could trigger food insecurity and economic hardship for rural communities reliant on agriculture.
