PFIPC Scandal: Dalung Questions How Adeyemi Gained Access to State House

Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has raised concerns over how Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), managed to gain access to the State House and top government officials.

Dalung made the remarks on Wednesday in a post on X, where he shared a photograph showing Adeyemi alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior figures. “What can you see? Should we also ask how the DG of the fake Federal Agency accessed the statehouse and enjoyed this level of proximity to the seat of power?” he wrote.

His comments come in the wake of Adeyemi’s arrest following a warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja. Adeyemi was scheduled to be arraigned on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud, and impersonation.

Although the case was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, Adeyemi failed to appear for his arraignment, despite his lawyer, Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance before the court.

The incident has sparked public debate about lapses in security and vetting processes within Nigeria’s corridors of power, with Dalung’s remarks amplifying calls for greater scrutiny of individuals who gain access to top government officials.
