PFIPC: I Don’t Have Confidence in ICPC, They Won’t Indict Gbajabiamila – Adeyemi Adeniyi

Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the embattled Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has openly expressed zero confidence in the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)’s ability to conduct a fair investigation.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday, Adeniyi asserted that the anti-graft agency is unlikely to indict President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, describing the situation as a classic case of “government probing government.”

“Government can’t probe Government. Are you telling me that the ICPC would indict Chief Femi Gbajabiamila? It’s not possible,” Adeniyi said.

He acknowledged President Tinubu’s decision to set up a panel but maintained that only a truly independent body can get to the root of the PFIPC scandal.

“I thank our father, Mr President, for listening by setting up a panel, but what we need is an independent panel. The Presidency already exonerated Gbajabiamila,” he added.

The controversy surrounding the PFIPC, which has been described as a phantom agency that allegedly secured office space, bank accounts, and budget allocations despite being disowned by the Presidency, continues to generate heated debate. Adeniyi is scheduled to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.

This latest statement adds another layer to the unfolding saga involving allegations of bribery, forgery, and misuse of public funds.
