Oyo Schoolchildren: ‘Bring out CCTV Footage of Kidnappers’ – Aisha Yesufu

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has challenged the Nigerian government to release CCTV footage of the kidnappers behind the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

Yesufu issued the demand in a post on her verified X account early Saturday, responding to comments by Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo.

Keyamo had asked Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi to apologize to airport authorities and pay a fine of ₦25,000 for allegedly breaching parking regulations at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

In her reaction, Yesufu dismissed the controversy as misplaced priorities, urging authorities to focus instead on transparency in tackling insecurity.

“Pathetic cowards! Let them bring out the CCTV of the kidnappers that took away children in Oyo or of the ones that have been terrorising citizens. Majoring in the minor is all they are freaking good at,” she wrote.

Her remarks come amid heightened public concern over recurring abductions, with critics pressing the government to prioritize security reforms over minor infractions.
