Razak Obe, Ondo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, has alleged that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is behind the crisis currently unsettling the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party has been embroiled in internal conflict following the outcome of its recent primary elections.
Several aspirants loyal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who failed to secure tickets during the National Assembly primaries, have taken legal action against the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), challenging both the results and the list of candidates submitted.
Speaking on Arise TV, Obe claimed that the Interior Minister is working against the governor’s camp, aligning instead with the APC National Chairman.
“There is a clear political divide within the Ondo APC. While divisions are normal in politics, we expect balance. Without euphemism, the Minister of Interior is behind the crisis in the Ondo APC. He is on the opposing side, not on the side of the governor. All other stakeholders are aligned with him,” Obe stated.
The allegations highlight growing tensions within the ruling party as stakeholders prepare for the 2027 elections.
