Danladi Ya’u, the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, has officially resigned from the party and declared his support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Ya’u announced his defection in a resignation letter addressed to ADC ward chairmen in Kwado, Kiji, and Kurba, stating that his decision was driven by confidence in the PDP candidate, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, a former Nigerian minister.
“I hereby formally resign from my position as the former State Chairman and currently serving as State Auditor of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Gombe State Chapter, and also resign my membership of the party with immediate effect. I have defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to support the candidature of Prof. Isa Ali Pantami in the 2027 governorship race,” Ya’u wrote.
His move adds momentum to Pantami’s campaign as political alignments intensify ahead of the polls.
