Human rights lawyer Liborous Oshoma has challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prove it is not a party “inhabited by certificate forgers” by prosecuting former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Oshoma said Nnaji’s arrest at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, just a day earlier, presents the ruling party with a test of credibility.
“If APC wants to show that they are not a party that is inhabited by certificate forgers, this is one such opportunity for them to prosecute,” Oshoma declared.
He added, using an Igbo proverb, that “a man who brought ant-infested wood to his house invited chickens to be his playmates,” stressing that Nnaji must face the consequences of his actions regardless of political undertones.
Oshoma also questioned the clearance process that allowed Nnaji’s ministerial appointment, urging President Bola Tinubu to resist pressure from influential figures who might attempt to shield the former minister.
He insisted that the case should serve as a litmus test for the APC’s commitment to integrity and accountability in governance.
