How to Apply for FG's Agricultural Quarantine Service Recruitment


The Federal Government has begun recruitment into the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for positions across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres.  

  

The application portal opened on July 28, 2026, and will close on August 10, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will undergo computer-based tests and interviews later in August. Applications are free and must be submitted online via the official portal. 

  

How to Apply

Interested candidates should:  Visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.naqs.gov.ng.  

Create an account or log in.  

Select the preferred cadre and position.  

Fill the online application form with accurate personal and educational details.  

Upload required credentials and documents.  

Review and submit the application. 

  

 Applications submitted after the deadline or those not following the proper procedure will not be considered.


Available Positions 

Superintendent Cadre: Chief Superintendent of Quarantine (Veterinary Doctors), Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine, Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II.  Inspectorate Cadre: Inspector of Quarantine I, II, and III.  Assistant Cadre: Quarantine Assistant I, II, and III.  

  

Educational Requirements 

Chief Superintendent: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) + NYSC certificate.   

Deputy Superintendent: Degree in Law or Master’s in relevant field + NYSC.   

Assistant Superintendent: First degree + NYSC.  

Inspectorate: OND or NCE.  

Assistant Cadre: SSCE/NECO/GCE with at least five credits including English and Mathematics (not more than two sittings). 

  

 General Requirements 

Applicants must be Nigerian by birth, possess a National Identification Number (NIN), be medically fit with a government hospital certificate, pass a drug test, be of good character with no criminal record, not belong to secret societies, be free from financial embarrassment, and be computer literate.  


Height requirements: 

Males – minimum 1.65m with 0.87m chest measurement; Females – minimum 1.55m. Certain physical conditions, obesity, and pregnancy disqualify applicants.  

  

Recruitment Timetable  

Application opens: July 28, 2026  

Application closes: August 10, 2026  

Shortlisting: August 13, 2026  

CBT and Interviews: August 15, 2026


The government warned against fake recruitment agents and urged applicants to use only the official portal for information. The entire exercise is free of charge.
