The Presidency has welcomed a letter from United States President Donald Trump to President Bola Tinubu, describing it as confirmation of the progress being made by the current administration in tackling insecurity.
Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communications, Daniel Bwala, made the remark on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.Bwala said the letter serves as “further proof of the progress we are making.”
“Fact speaks for itself. That’s what it is. The letter is further proof of the progress we are making,” he stated.
He emphasized that the administration would not relent in its efforts even without such international commendation, comparing the letter to encouragement in a relationship that strengthens commitment but does not define it.
“Does it mean if there was no letter, we will stop? No. Because we are already engaging and communicating with them,” Bwala added.
In the letter, President Trump reportedly commended Tinubu’s “decisive leadership” and Nigeria’s efforts to address terrorism and violence against Christians in the country.
