A faction within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has emphasized that the state requires strong, quality governance and visionary leadership rather than relying on sentiments around power rotation or zoning ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group stressed that Ebonyi State has not yet reached its full potential due to poor leadership and sectional politics.
They called on residents to prioritize competence, inclusiveness, and transformational governance over divisive or sentimental considerations.
Speaking during engagements with stakeholders, including the business community and professionals, PDP governorship candidate Chukwuma Odii pledged a new direction focused on key areas such as education, infrastructure development, and reducing over-dependence on federal allocations.
He highlighted the need for purposeful and visionary leadership to drive sustainable growth.
