Dangote Launches N500,000 Whistleblower Reward to Fight Illegal Use of Company Trucks

Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has rolled out a whistleblower programme offering a N500,000 cash reward to members of the public who provide credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the unauthorised use of its branded trucks.

The initiative, announced on Sunday, aims to clamp down on illegal haulage activities and safeguard the integrity of the conglomerate’s nationwide logistics operations.

In a statement, the company urged Nigerians to report any suspected misuse of its trucks for transporting unauthorised goods or passengers. It emphasised that only approved products are permitted on vehicles belonging to its subsidiaries.

Dangote Cement trucks authorised to carry only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal, and clinker.

Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks - restricted to sugar products.

NASCON Allied Industries trucks — designated for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning.

Dangote Packaging vehicles — for bags and packaging materials.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks — approved for polypropylene products.

Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles — authorised for urea fertiliser.

The company warned that any Dangote truck found conveying unauthorised goods will be treated as engaging in illegal haulage.

Drivers and owners of such cargo risk arrest, confiscation of the goods, and prosecution.

“Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorized goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of Five Hundred Thousand Naira,” the statement said.

To facilitate reports, the company asked whistleblowers to provide key details including truck type, registration plate number, cab number, location, description of goods, vehicle colour, and photographs where possible. Dedicated hotlines have been set up across its operations.

Dangote Industries has also authorised law enforcement agencies, including the police, to arrest drivers found using its trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage.

The group described the move as part of its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud, stressing that public cooperation is vital to maintaining transparency, accountability, and compliance in its transportation network.

“We encourage anyone with credible information to come forward and help us maintain the integrity of our transportation system,” the company added.

The whistleblower initiative is expected to protect Dangote’s assets, promote lawful business practices, and ensure that offenders are brought to justice.
