The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted for his alleged involvement in the illegal sale and supply of military uniforms and related items to terrorists and other criminal elements.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 23, 2026, by Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at NAOC Headquarters, Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, the Corps revealed that preliminary investigations showed Amutu who was serving at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory absconded from his unit on June 3, 2026.
Military authorities have officially declared him wanted, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him for a full investigation and disciplinary action under existing military laws.
The Army reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward any misconduct, indiscipline, or actions that could compromise operational effectiveness, integrity, or national security.
It warned that personnel found aiding terrorists or criminals through the unauthorized diversion of military uniforms, accoutrements, or controlled items would face the full weight of military and civil laws.
The Corps appealed to the public for credible information that could lead to Amutu’s arrest, urging anyone with useful tips to contact the nearest military formation or security agency.
