The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zone has announced plans to embark on a mobilisation tour across the seven states in the region as part of efforts to consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the zonal leadership at the party’s headquarters in Kaduna, where members reviewed the political landscape and resolved to intensify grassroots engagement. The meeting was chaired by Zonal Secretary Isah Achida in the absence of National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Datti.
In a statement issued by Zonal Publicity Secretary Musa Mada, the party emphasized that the North-West remains a strategic bloc, having delivered one of the highest vote totals for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. The APC expressed confidence that it would surpass that performance in 2027 through early mobilisation and sustained stakeholder engagement.
“As part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, the zonal leadership resolved to embark on a tour of the seven North-West states to engage party leaders, critical stakeholders and members on practical measures to strengthen the party’s structures and secure an overwhelming victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC,” the statement read.
The party noted that all seven states in the zone Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara are currently governed by the APC, describing the political configuration as unprecedented and a unique opportunity to deepen unity.
The leadership also commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for donating a utility vehicle to the zonal secretariat, praising his commitment to strengthening party activities. It further acknowledged the contributions of APC governors, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, ministers, and other office holders from the region for their continued support.
The APC urged stakeholders to sustain the momentum as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
