Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries to strengthen the state’s civil service.
The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by the Head of Service, Mr. Iskeel Saka, who explained that the appointments were necessary to fill vacancies created by the retirement of former officeholders.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
Dr. Solomon Oluseyi Sokunbi, Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye Akinwunmi, Mr. Adedeji Akanbi Sowunmi, Mr. Olumide Olusola Ogunbo, Mr. Dolamu Isaiah Idowu-Agida, Tpl. Musinat Abiola Ayodele.
According to Saka, the appointments were made in line with Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution, following careful consideration of merit, professionalism, and inclusiveness.
He noted that all six appointees successfully completed the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme, a mandatory prerequisite for assuming top public service leadership roles.
The Head of Service emphasized that the move reflects Governor Abiodun’s commitment to building a more effective, responsive, and result-oriented civil service.
He urged the new appointees to uphold integrity, dedication, and selfless service in their duties.
The statement added that the Permanent Secretaries are expected to play key roles in advancing ongoing reforms and improving service delivery across the state.
Governor Abiodun will formally inaugurate them on a date to be announced later.
