Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential running mate, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye.
Melaye announced the visit via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, confirming that Amaechi came to his residence in Abuja.“Governor Rotimi Amaechi on a courtesy visit to SDM today. Arise and Shine,” Melaye wrote.
Details of their closed-door meeting were not made public as of the time of filing this report.
Amaechi was selected as the running mate to ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, after he came second in the party’s presidential primary.
He had, along with third-placed candidate Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, alleged irregularities in the primary that produced Atiku as the flagbearer.
Following the primary, Atiku reached out to both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen, appealing to them to join forces with him for the 2027 presidential election.
