TRAILER: Sequel to Mount Zion’s 1993 classic ‘Agbara Nla’ to hit cinema Oct 1

Mike Bamiloye, the ace filmmaker and Mount Zion Faith Ministries founder, has confirmed the upcoming cinema release of ‘Agbara Nla: The Return,’ a reimagined version of his 1993 Christian blockbuster that became a landmark production in Nigeria’s faith-based film industry.

The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on October 1, Bamiloye recently announced via an Instagram post, accompanied by a trailer.

“AGBARA NLA (1993)… Who Remember the experiences then? That was 33 Years ago. And the English Version: THE ULTIMATE POWER came up in 1994 and spread across the Eastern Nigeria starting from Edo,” he wrote.

“Now coming up, remade and repackaged in higher grade. Coming to CINEMA, October 1st

Prophetically…For the Deliverance of….MUWONLERU….!”

The original ‘Agbara Nla,’ also known as ‘The Ultimate Power,’ garnered a devoted following across Nigeria and Africa, becoming one of the continent’s most recognised Christian films.

The storyline centered on spiritual warfare, depicting the clash between good and evil through witchcraft, occult practices, and demonic forces while championing faith, prayer, evangelism, and themes of submission and obedience in marriage and ministry.

The remake, which revisits the original narrative for contemporary audiences while preserving its core message of divine supremacy over evil, is directed by Damilola Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye.

The cast sees Mike Bamiloye reprise his role as Isawuru, alongside Philip Olubakin as Olaboye, Damilola Bamiloye as Kola, and Aanu Kolade Abiodun as Bose.

The project is a collaboration between Mount Zion Film Productions, Circuits, and Sozo Films. Chris Odeh serves as producer, with Mohammed Sedik and Damilola Bamiloye as co-producers. Blue Pictures Distribution will handle the nationwide theatrical rollout.

Since its founding by Mike and Gloria Bamiloye in 1985, Mount Zion Faith Ministries has produced hundreds of stage plays and films, including ‘Abejoye,’ ‘Abattoir,’ and ‘The Train’.
