Nancy Isime, the Nigerian actress, says she never discusses her earnings with her partner and doesn’t expect him to share his either.
Speaking on the ‘Thank For Coming’ podcast, the ‘Blood
Sisters’ star stated that money is off-limits in her relationships.
The actress emphasised that she values privacy and
boundaries, adding that she sees no reason for financial disclosures between
couples.
“I never discuss three things: my money, my money, my money.
Tell a man how much I earn, never, for what,” she said.
“And I don’t want him to discuss his with me either. I don’t
want to know how much he is earning.”
On phone access, Isime said she has no objection to her
partner going through her phone, but she would never ask to check his.
“I have no problem with him going through my phone, but for
what?” she said.
“I would never ask to check my man’s phone.”
The 34-year-old Nollywood star had revealed in 2024 that she
had never daydreamed about getting married.
She said her focus has always been on building a career and
achieving financial independence, rather than walking down the aisle.
“You know when young girls used to sit down and daydream
about getting married, I never did. I used to daydream about working and making
my own money and being independent,” she said.
“I fear that I might not even have my dream wedding because
what is a dream wedding? Even if I get married, it would just be a wedding that
we both agree on at the same time… If it is a big wedding, if we feel it, it’s
fine. If it is a small wedding, whatever we feel.”
In January, Isime, however, told TV host Morayo
Afolabi-Brown in an interview that she was of age for marriage and desires a
kind man.
