President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a Joint Address to the National Assembly on Friday, June 12, 2026, to mark Nigeria’s 27th Democracy Day.
The announcement came from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, during the inauguration of the planning committee in Abuja.
Akume noted that this year's celebrations will be "modest yet purposeful," reflecting the nation's current mood and a commitment to fiscal responsibility.
The event will also honor the heroes of the June 12, 1993 struggle, including the late Chief MKO Abiola.
