Taiwan has launched a dedicated website encouraging Chinese citizens to submit intelligence on Beijing, describing it as a secure channel for those who share democratic values to provide information on China’s political, military, economic, and social developments.
The platform, introduced by Taiwan’s National Security Bureau (NSB) on Sunday, June 14, 2026, comes amid heightened cross-strait tensions.
China claims democratic Taiwan as part of its territory and has threatened to use force to bring it under its control, while Taipei accuses Beijing of espionage and infiltration aimed at weakening its defences.
In a statement, the NSB said an increasing number of people have approached Taiwanese agencies wishing to provide various types of information.
The bureau released a one-minute AI-generated video depicting a Chinese civil servant witnessing colleagues being detained and investigated, highlighting what it described as a climate of fear under China’s totalitarian system.
The new reporting channel follows practices used by intelligence agencies in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel. Submissions will be rigorously filtered, evaluated, and followed up using advanced technology, the NSB said.
It also outlined strict safety procedures for users, including the use of non-Chinese devices, VPNs, and incognito mode.
The website address is https://report.nsb.gov.tw. No financial rewards are being offered for tips.
The move reflects Taiwan’s efforts to broaden its intelligence sources as it faces growing Chinese espionage activities. China has its own systems for reporting perceived separatist activities.
As of Monday, the NSB had not responded to further media requests for comment. The development underscores the intensifying intelligence battle between the two sides.
