Ikenga Ugochinyere, lawmaker representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, has released a video showing House Deputy Spokesperson, Philip Agbese, signing his endorsement form for the position of Minority Leader in the House of Representatives.
The footage, recorded on May 21, 2026, captures Agbese signing two separate forms.
This comes after Agbese, during Thursday’s plenary session, raised a point of privilege alleging that his signature had been forged on a document nominating Ugochinyere for the leadership role.
Earlier reports indicated that 61 members of the Minority Caucus had signed in support of Ugochinyere, a member of the Action People’s Party (APP).
However, Agbese denied endorsing him, insisting that the publication of his alleged signature infringed on his rights as a caucus member.
“Yesterday I saw a document on the internet with my name reportedly nominating a member of this House for the post of minority leader,” Agbese told colleagues on the floor of the House.
In response, Ugochinyere released the video evidence showing Agbese signing the endorsement form, intensifying the controversy within the Minority Caucus.
