Peter Obi Urges NDC Aspirants to Embrace Unity After Primaries

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has appealed to fellow aspirants who lost in the party’s primary election to accept the outcome in good faith and channel their energy toward strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the second National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Obi emphasized the importance of unity, urging members to set aside grievances and focus on building a credible platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

Acknowledging the presence of senior leaders, lawmakers, state chairmen, and other stakeholders, the former Anambra State governor apologized for the delayed start of the meeting.

He described the NDC as a young but fast-growing political organization, noting that within 90 days, the party had successfully conducted congresses, conventions, and primaries.

“In every democratic process, there will be winners and those who do not succeed. What matters is what we do after the process,” Obi said, stressing that collective effort is vital for the party’s growth and credibility.
