Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr Sam Amadi, has described Peter Obi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, and his Obidient movement as the most transformative force in Nigerian politics in the past two and a half decades.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Amadi praised Obi and his supporters for fundamentally changing the political landscape through issue-based engagement, youth mobilisation, and a shift away from traditional money-driven politics. @peteerobiand his Obidients have been the most transformative force in Nigerian politics in the two and half decades,” Amadi wrote.
He urged Obi and his followers to remain resolute and intensify their efforts towards the 2027 general elections.
Amadi’s commendation highlights the significant impact of the Obidient movement, which gained national prominence during the 2023 presidential election and continues to reshape opposition politics in Nigeria.
Peter Obi, who recently joined the NDC alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, is positioning the party as a formidable platform for the 2027 presidential race.
His supporters are known for their strong online presence, emphasis on good governance, frugality, and accountability qualities Amadi has consistently highlighted in past comments about the former Anambra governor.
