Peace, Security Driving Investments in Delta, Says Oborevwori

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has attributed the growing wave of investments in the state to sustained peace and improved security, declaring that Delta is now fully open and safe for business and commercial expansion.

Oborevwori made the remarks on Wednesday during the commissioning of Zenith Bank Plc’s new Osubi branch in Okpe Local Government Area. He described the development as a clear vote of confidence in the state’s economic prospects and investor-friendly policies.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor noted that the opening of Zenith Bank’s 19th branch in Delta reflects increasing confidence in the state’s economy and the success of his administration’s efforts to create a thriving business environment.

“This is more than just a banking facility coming on stream. It is a strong vote of confidence in the future of Delta State and in the opportunities that lie before us,” Oborevwori said. He commended Zenith Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Adaora Umeoji, and her team for keeping their promise to establish the branch.

The governor highlighted that it is currently the only bank in the entire Okpe Local Government Area and will significantly boost local economic activities.“Today, Delta State is enjoying an atmosphere of peace and security that allows our businesses to thrive and communities to prosper. This did not happen by chance. It is the result of deliberate efforts to strengthen security, promote stability and create an environment where people can live, work and invest with confidence,” he added.

Oborevwori assured that his government remains committed to sustaining peace, enhancing infrastructure, and partnering with the private sector to drive growth, create jobs, and improve livelihoods.

The new branch is expected to deliver quality banking services to Osubi and surrounding communities, empower entrepreneurs, support small and medium-scale enterprises, promote financial inclusion, and stimulate broader economic development.

In her remarks, Zenith Bank’s CEO, Adaora Umeoji, thanked Governor Oborevwori for his support of private sector investments and for donating the land for the branch free of charge. She praised the visible impact of his M.O.R.E Agenda across the state.
