Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sharply criticized First Lady Remi Tinubu for what he described as her failure to act like a concerned mother in response to the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State.
Speaking to a group of women on Friday, the cleric warned that the First Lady’s approach could damage President Bola Tinubu’s chances of re-election in 2027.
“You will make Tinubu lose the 2027 election,” Primate Ayodele stated. “You did not behave like a mother at all. You should have done what Jonathan’s wife did. You never protested and demanded that these Oyo school children be brought back. Instead, you were busy distributing cars for political campaigns. I will tell you the truth.”
The comments come amid ongoing outrage over the abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State.
Ayodele contrasted Remi Tinubu’s actions with those of former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, who was known for publicly engaging on security and welfare issues during her husband’s tenure.
Recently, the First Lady donated vehicles to women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in several opposition-controlled states during the inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers support group at the State House in Abuja.
Primate Ayodele’s remarks add to the growing political pressure on the Tinubu administration as public frustration mounts over the safety of abducted schoolchildren.
The abduction has sparked protests and widespread calls for urgent government intervention.
