Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has assured that the people of Northern Nigeria will repay President Bola Tinubu’s development initiatives with overwhelming votes during the 2027 presidential election.
Matawalle made the declaration while addressing supporters and party leaders who paid him Sallah homage at his residences in Maradun and Gusau, Zamfara State.
The former Zamfara Governor highlighted that the North is among the regions significantly benefiting from the Tinubu administration’s capital projects and development programmes.
He noted that several sons and daughters of the region have been appointed to key positions in government, contributing to the delivery of democratic dividends across the North.
Matawalle cited ongoing infrastructure projects such as the dualisation of the Abuja-Kaduna, Zaria-Sokoto, and Ilela-Badagry expressways, describing them as unprecedented developments the North had not witnessed even under previous northern presidents.
“For us in the North, our votes for the APC and President Tinubu will show clearly that we appreciate what he’s doing for the region,” the minister said.
He expressed confidence that the North would “shock the world” with the volume of votes it will deliver for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
The minister urged Northerners not to be deceived by selfish politicians criticising the APC-led government, stressing that returning Tinubu to power remains the wisest decision for Nigerians, as every region has begun to experience the dividends of democracy.
This marks the latest in a series of mobilisations by Matawalle in his home state, aimed at reconciling party members, strengthening support for President Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal, and consolidating APC dominance ahead of the 2027 polls.
