A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has called on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to weed out corrupt elements within the judiciary by prosecuting and jailing those found wanting.
Galadima made the call on Tuesday during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’, while reacting to the recent Federal High Court ruling in Lokoja, Kogi State, which attempted to deregister the party.
“The judiciary needs to send the bad eggs among them to jail to serve as deterrent to others,” he said.
He added that the judiciary requires serious soul-searching to prevent a few bad elements from tarnishing its image.
“Certain judges must not go unpunished,” Galadima stated, noting that the NDC is approaching the matter calmly and remains confident of prevailing on appeal.
“I don’t think this judgment can stand any test of time,” he declared.
