The governorship candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has challenged Governor Abba Yusuf to present credible evidence to support allegations that local government funds were diverted through his son, Mujahid Aminu Abdussalam.
The accusation was made by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who claimed that funds from local councils were funneled to the former deputy governor via his son.
In a statement released on Thursday by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, Gwarzo dismissed the claims as baseless and malicious.
He described them as “products of the Governor’s imagination” and insisted they lacked any factual foundation.
“These allegations are simply outrageous and unfounded. We firmly challenge the accuser to present credible and verifiable evidence to support these malicious claims. Mere accusations, no matter how often repeated, do not constitute proof,” the statement read.
Gwarzo emphasized that throughout his career in public service, he has upheld transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
He urged the public to disregard the allegations, expressing confidence that the truth would eventually prevail.
