The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has directed all its branches across Nigeria to suspend vigils and overnight prayer meetings, citing rising insecurity in the country.
In a memo dated June 5, 2026, and signed by Temitope A. Olawale, Director of Administration at the church’s international headquarters in Lagos, the ministry instructed that all services and programmes must henceforth conclude no later than 8:00 pm.
The church explained that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard members amid growing concerns over banditry, kidnappings, and attacks in several parts of Nigeria.
“Where necessary, vigils may be converted to evening prayer programmes and must be concluded on or before 8:00 pm,” the memo stated.
The directive, which was circulated to regional overseers, zonal pastors, and branch pastors, emphasized strict compliance across all levels of the ministry.
“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation,” the church added.
