Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives from Kano State, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu is deeply unsettled by the spate of school kidnappings across Nigeria.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Jibrin said the atmosphere at the Presidential Villa in Abuja has been “moody” as officials grapple with the crisis.
He stressed that Tinubu is losing sleep over the plight of abducted children and their families.
“The school children that were kidnapped, it’s actually a difficult thing to talk about; my sympathy goes to the families of those kidnapped kids and those who lost their lives in the hands of kidnappers and bandits,” Jibrin stated.
He assured that the president and his government are working tirelessly to address insecurity and secure the release of victims.
“The last person that can be able to sleep that I know very well is the president. The government is doing everything possible to ensure those who have been kidnapped are returned to their families,” he added.
