Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of Salvation Ministries, has alleged that some politicians are behind the wave of school kidnappings across Nigeria.
Speaking in response to recent abductions of schoolchildren and teachers in Sokoto, Oyo, and other states, Ibiyeomie claimed that the kidnappings are not random acts but are being sponsored.
He questioned why the Department of State Services (DSS) has not tracked down those responsible.“They are not just picking these children without sponsors. Politicians must be behind it,” he said.
“Do you know that even the DSS can track people and know where they are, so how come they are not tracking these kidnappers? There must be an invisible hand behind it.”
Ibiyeomie argued that with modern surveillance technology, it should be possible to locate kidnappers through phone calls and other signals, yet arrests are rarely made.
His remarks add to growing public frustration over insecurity and the government’s handling of abductions.
