Kebbi Governor Convenes Emergency Security Meeting Over Fresh Bandit Attacks

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, on Friday convened an emergency security meeting at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi in direct response to recent bandit attacks in parts of the state.

The high-level meeting brought together top security chiefs and stakeholders to review the prevailing security situation and fine-tune strategies to tackle emerging threats in affected communities.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Idris expressed deep concern over the recent incidents and reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.

He warned that the state government would not tolerate informants collaborating with bandits, vowing that anyone found aiding criminals would face the full wrath of the law.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” the governor declared.

Governor Idris commended the efforts of security agencies in the fight against banditry and urged residents to provide timely and credible intelligence to support ongoing operations.

“People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he added.

The emergency meeting comes amid heightened fears over bandit activities in several parts of Kebbi State, with recent attacks raising concerns about the safety of rural communities and farming areas.

The governor has consistently maintained that Kebbi will not surrender to bandits, as his administration continues to collaborate with federal security forces to restore peace and normalcy.
