Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has ordered the indefinite suspension of three Special Advisers and two Supervisory Councillors of Auyo Local Government Council, effective immediately.
The suspension was announced Tuesday by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Ibrahim Hannun-Giwa, through ministry PRO Najib Umar.
Affected officials: Bala Energy and Abdullahi Usman, both Supervisory Councillors; plus Afake Auyo, Ussaini Biyuta Kataudi, and Kande Auyo, all Special Advisers to the Auyo LG Chairman.
The ministry directed all five to hand over government property to the Director of Administration and General Services “without delay” and “must be complied with promptly,” Najib Umar stated.
No reason was given, the move comes amid heightened political tension in Jigawa after the APC primaries, where several incumbents lost return tickets. Among them was the House of Reps member for Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency.
This is the second round of suspensions of political aides by Namadi in recent weeks as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
