Actor Emeka Ike says he will take legal action against Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, over the alleged exposure of his personal INEC voter details.
Olayinka came under fire after posting screenshots from an INEC admin portal on X Saturday.
The post showed Ike’s application number, Voter Identification Number, registration centre, profile picture, name, and date of application. Olayinka wrote that Ike transferred his registration from Imo to FCT on May 15, 2026, and questioned his bid for the AMAC/Bwari House of Reps seat.
Reacting Tuesday on Channels TV’s _The Morning Brief_, Ike called it “the height of political rascality” for a government official to access a citizen’s INEC data.
“It’s quite shocking, extreme... He is telling every Nigerian that whoever you are, I can pull your information from anywhere and I can do what I want, and that rascality needs to be stopped,” he said.
Ike, who contested the AMAC/Bwari seat under the Nigerian Democratic Congress and lost, said: “Actions are ready, I’m ready to take him on. He has no right to exploit my privacy and insult Nigerians the way he did.”
He explained he switched to contesting in Abuja after residents urged him to run there, saying “A municipal area needs to be properly guarded and looked into.”
