A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has revealed his financial struggles before coming into limelight.
Igbokwe clarified that his source of wealth didn’t come from
the ruling party as being insinuated in some quarters.
The APC chieftain said he was once a bus conductor in Lagos
and has been involved in petty businesses before becoming successful.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe said, “Some
people will see me today and think in their wildest imaginations that I am rich
because I belong to APC Nigeria.
“My story will choke you to the marrows. I started feeding my mother when I was in
primary school in the 70s. I fetched fire woods for sale. I fetched water for
sale.
“I planted yam for people, I was a bus conductor in Lagos, I
started a restaurant business as a graduate. I sold motor parts and I sold cars
in Western Avenue in Lagos and I buy and
sell lands, I am an author of 5 books etc. today I am a fulfilled man. One
thing led to another.”
Igbokwe has been constantly attacked online following his
support for the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
