The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday disclosed signing the Certificate of Occupancy, CofO, belonging to the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Wike said the signed CofO would enable Mark concentrate on
his job as ADC National Chairman.
The minister spoke during the commissioning of interchange
at Arterial Road N16 – Ring Road III Intersection linking Jahi District to
Gwarimpa District of the FCT.
The project was among those earmarked to celebrate President
Bola Tinubu’s third year anniversary and he was represented at the
commissioning by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Wike also accused Mark of failing to ensure the
commissioning of any project in the FCT while he was Senate President for eight
years.
He said: “Eight as Senate President, never a day did we
commission any project in the FCT, Mr President came in 2023, one year in
office, Mr President took nine years in office to commission projects, in two
years, Mr President took 19 days to commission projects; in three years he took
31 days to commission projects.
“It’s very obvious, look at the ease of doing business
combined from 2010 to 2015 and from 2015 to 2023 the entire C of O that was
signed was not more than 4000 but today, three years of Mr President in office,
we have signed no less than 25,000 CofOs. What does it show? Ease of doing
business.
“People can use their titles to get money from the bank and
do whatever business they want to do but they can’t see that.
“I also want to remind them, in fact this morning while I
was leaving the office I signed the one of David Mark to make sure that he does
his business as the Chairman of ADC.
“We don’t discriminate, it doesn’t matter whether you belong
to where Mr President is or not, the truth is that Mr President is serving all
Nigerians.”
