Tragedy struck in Agodo community along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway on Sunday as gunmen murdered a former staff member of Ogun State Television, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as “Aunty Kitan,” together with her security guard.
The victims were discovered lifeless at Oyesiku’s residence by church members who had gone to check on her after noticing her absence from service.
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants first killed the security guard before attacking Oyesiku inside her home.
Their bodies have since been deposited at the State Hospital morgue in Ijaiye, Abeokuta.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the command is aware of the killings and will issue an official statement soon.
Oyesiku, a respected figure in the state’s media industry, had worked with the state-owned television station before her retirement.
News of her death has sparked grief among colleagues, friends, and residents, who described her as a beloved personality in Ogun broadcasting circles.
