Three young men from Plateau State have been abducted by gunmen in Kogi State while returning from a business trip in Akure, Ondo State.
The victims, identified as Kweti Jonathan Menje, Habila Sunday, and Samuel all residents of Jenta Adamu in Jos North Local Government Area were intercepted on Monday along with other passengers.
They were whisked away to an unknown location by suspected Fulani gunmen.
According to a statement by the Jenta Adamu Central Youth Council (CYC JAW) shared on Facebook, the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families and demanded a ransom of N10 million per person, totaling N30 million. A deadline was set, with threats to kill the hostages if payment is not made.
The council described the incident as a source of fear and anxiety for the families and the wider community.
It called on the Federal Government, security agencies, traditional leaders, and relevant stakeholders to intervene urgently for the safe and unconditional release of the victims.
The group also appealed for public prayers and any useful information that could aid rescue efforts.
