Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has openly criticised the member representing Hadejia, Auyo, and Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Usman, describing him as the worst representative the constituency has ever produced.
The governor made the remark on Monday while receiving a delegation from Auyo Local Government Area on a solidarity visit to the Government House in Dutse.
Namadi accused the lawmaker of failing to execute any meaningful developmental projects across the three local government areas throughout his 11 years in the National Assembly.
He further described Hon. Usman as one of the lawmakers who merely occupy office without making any significant contributions to legislation or constituency development.
The governor challenged the federal lawmaker to test his popularity by seeking re-election under any opposition party if he believes he enjoys strong support from the people.
Despite the criticism, Governor Namadi commended the people of Auyo for their continued loyalty and assured them of his administration’s commitment to delivering more people-oriented projects in the area.
The delegation leader, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Auyo, reaffirmed the people’s support for Governor Namadi and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He highlighted several developmental projects delivered by the current administration in Auyo, including the establishment of the area’s first boarding technical college, roads, schools, and health facilities.
Garba Auyo also distanced the people of the area from recent statements made by the federal lawmaker.
The comments come after the APC substituted Hon. Usman as its candidate for the constituency ahead of the next general elections and suspended him along with six other party executives in Auyo Local Government.
