Former Kano State deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, Yusuf Dambatta, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dambatta announced his defection in a statement on Sunday, explaining that the move followed “careful consideration and wide consultations” with political leaders, associates, supporters, and stakeholders.“I hereby formally announce my decision to join the All Progressives Congress.
This decision was taken after careful consideration and wide consultations,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the APC offers a stronger platform to contribute to the progress of Kano State and Nigeria, citing the party’s inclusiveness and commitment to the welfare of the people.
Dambatta praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s “visionary leadership” and the Kano First Agenda, which he described as a transformative programme focused on good governance, human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and overall state progress.
While reaffirming his dedication to unity, peace, and sustainable development, Dambatta also thanked PDP members and leaders for their past support, noting that he looks forward to working with APC members and other citizens to advance Kano’s development agenda.
