Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), slashing it by N75 per litre from N1,250 to N1,175.
The new rate takes effect from midnight on June 16, 2026.
In a circular issued to fuel marketers, the refinery attributed the price adjustment to the recent de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, which has eased pressure on global energy prices over the past three months.
“Following the de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, which has impacted energy prices, we wish to inform you that we have reviewed our premium motor spirit gantry/coastal price,” the statement read.
The coastal price per metric tonne has also been reduced from N1,595,790 to N1,495,215.
The refinery further noted that all outstanding unloaded gantry volumes will be repriced at the new rate and expressed appreciation for continued patronage while reaffirming its commitment to reliable supply.
This latest move positions Dangote Refinery as one of the most competitive suppliers in the market.
According to industry tracker Petroleumprice.ng, many marketers were selling Dangote petrol for around N1,240 earlier on Monday, making the refinery's direct gantry price notably cheaper.
