Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has issued a stern challenge to President Bola Tinubu, demanding immediate action to secure the release of victims abducted in Oyo State.
In a statement by his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku urged Tinubu to mobilise all security and intelligence agencies for the unconditional rescue of those held captive.
He condemned reports that government officials delivered bags of rice and palliatives to affected families, describing the gesture as “cruel, morally bankrupt, and an open confession of failure.”
“You either secure their release or admit your failure as a leader. Parents whose children have been torn from their arms are not asking for rice. What these families need is action, leadership, and justice,” Atiku declared.
He stressed that the incident highlights a disturbing reality: insecurity under Tinubu’s administration has shifted from being treated as an emergency to becoming a way of life.
