Armed bandits have abducted six people during a late-night raid on Rukpete Village, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, according to community sources.
Initially, seven individuals were taken, but one elderly victim was later released, leaving six captives four men and two women.
Reports indicate that some of the victims are children under 14, intensifying fear and anxiety among residents.
Security operatives were unable to intervene before the assailants escaped with the hostages.
The incident has sparked widespread concern, with locals urging government authorities and security agencies to act swiftly to secure the victims’ release and prevent further attacks.
