Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating violent attacks across several communities in the state, urging President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to step in to prevent further unrest.
In a statement posted on his X handle, Adeleke condemned the alleged assaults in Ile-Ife, Ede, Osogbo, and other areas, stressing that no political ambition should endanger the lives of citizens.
He called on the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, the DSS, and other agencies to act swiftly.
The governor specifically asked authorities to caution former governor Gboyega Oyetola, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and others allegedly linked to the incidents.
Adeleke said he visited victims receiving treatment at the Osun State Teaching Hospital in Osogbo and the Cottage Hospital in Ede, and also paid solidarity visits to political leaders who had survived recent attacks.
He assured victims and their families of government support and directed security agencies to investigate thoroughly, promising justice regardless of political affiliation.
He urged residents to remain peaceful, noting that additional security measures were being deployed to vulnerable areas.
Adeleke also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
