Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has revealed that African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and fellow aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen have resolved to work together ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku Abubakar emerged victorious in the ADC presidential primary, defeating former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen. However, both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen rejected the outcome of the exercise, citing alleged irregularities.
In a bid to unify the party, Atiku reportedly visited both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen to secure their support for the upcoming polls against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Melaye announced the development, stating: “Atiku and Hayatudeen agree to work together to kick APC out.”
The move is seen as an attempt to consolidate opposition forces within the ADC and present a united front against the APC in 2027. Further details on the terms of their agreement are yet to be publicly disclosed.
