The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has cautioned Nigerians against viewing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as political messiahs ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike described the two parties as “liars” who are deceiving citizens with false promises.
Speaking during his monthly media chat, the FCT Minister criticised the ADC for failing to conduct a transparent primary election acceptable to all presidential aspirants.
He recalled how leaders of the ADC had criticised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), yet could not ensure transparency in their own congress.
“NDC as small as they are can’t do a primary without protest. Look at ADC, which says its coalition is willing to take over the structure of democracy. What has happened? During its primary, the two presidential aspirants said they can’t take it,” Wike stated.
He continued: “We have been accusing this and that party of doing this and that, now see what we have done. That now tells you who is deceiving who?“Who is coming to Nigerians to tell them lies that we are the Messiah? Those are all liars; they can’t be deceiving us.
“They have agreed that PDP is a dead party, APC is rotten but just ordinary Congress they can’t. They have three presidential aspirants, two said this is rubbish, criminality to the highest order.”
